An area rich in its own unique Arabian culture and history. Oman is arguably the most surprising country in the Middle East and offers pristine beaches, exceptional hotels and verdant oases of greenery. Located at the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, this jewel in Arabia’s crown is largely undiscovered.
General Information
Oman its hot here.
The land of the Arabian Knights and the alleged home of Sinbad the Sailor, Oman is one of the oldest civilizations on the Arabian Peninsular, dating back over 5000 years. It differs very much to its much more famous neighbour, Dubai. There are no skyscrapers and most buildings stick very closely to the traditional Arabic designs with the new buildings either white or sand coloured. Where tradition and the Arabic culture are hard to uncover in Dubai, the opposite is the case within Oman. Tradition plays a great part in everyday life in Oman, giving the country a definite serenity and calmness, and a unique individuality. Modern lifestyles are tempered by the Omani’s love for tradition. You will notice wherever you go in this beautiful country that past and present often become intertwined.
Oman has become a vibrant and exciting destination with top quality hotels, a great climate and beautiful beaches. There are some wonderful scuba diving sites and all manner of water and sand sports are popular and easily available to all. However there is so much more to Oman and it’s a destination, we believe will make you leave your prime spot on the beach and venture out and explore.
Due to the rich and diverse history Oman has no shortage of cultural sites both within the capital Muscat and throughout the country. Muscat is an intoxicating place that showcases a wonderful blend of old and new. Visit the famous Al Alam Palace, by the sea and the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque or perhaps sit on the waterfront where you can observe the animated scenes as fish is traded in the ancient market. Try your hand at haggling for Bedouin rugs, gold and frankincense in the Muttrah Souq before enjoying a sumptuous feast at one of the restaurants, known for their relaxed ambience and very attentive, yet relaxed and friendly service.

Oman's climate is primarily arid, varying slightly between the dry inland and hot humid costal regions during the summer. Year round milder weather dominates the cooler mountain regions, with the southern part of the country enjoying a more tropical climate.
Average temperatures sit around 25°C during the day in the winter and climb up to 43°C during the summer months, with temperatures reaching as high as 54°C in the dessert.
The best time to visit the country is between October and April when the weather is pleasantly warm during the day and cooler in the evenings.
